The Beatles Revolver & The Beach Boys Pet Sounds

The song that really stood out to me from Revolver was Yellow Submarine. Yellow Submarine has very distinct sounds that are added to the song that do not take away from it but only add effect. While recording this song for the record you can tell that there were special effects added to emphasize what is going on in the song. The Beatles engineer George Martin used a numerous amount of objects in the making of this to name off a few, a tin bath filled with water, wind, a ships bell. I think that to add all of those special effects on top of vocals and instruments was ahead of their time.

Wouldnt It Be Nice by The Beach Boys was the songs that caught me because it is one of the songs that I grew up listening to with my father. I like how you can distinctly hear every instrument that is being played throughout the song without it being overwhelming. The thing that I found interesting about the production of this song is that Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys took over Phil Spector's style of recording by recording the instrumental back tracks first for the song and then adding the vocals to it later on.
